At Arizona MENTOR, our people make the difference.
We are fortunate to have a team of experienced human services professionals committed to serving adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other complex challenges. From our Direct Support Professionals to nurses to support staff, our employees come to work each day with one goal—to improve quality of life for the individuals we serve and their families.
So what’s it like to work for Arizona MENTOR? Just one of our team members!
Joann Gifford, Area Director
Joann came to Arizona MENTOR as a DSP in one of our Day Programs and quickly assumed the role of Lead DSP. After two years, she was promoted to Program Coordinator and shortly thereafter transitioned into our Group Home program, where she served as Program Director. Joann took on the position of Program Manager and was eventually promoted to her current position of Area Director for Group Homes.
Joann’s years of diverse experience serving individuals in both our residential and community-based programs has made her uniquely focused on the wide range of needs that adults and children with disabilities have. Her work with us has given her the chance to develop new skills and grow as leader. But what makes her excited to come to work each day is the knowledge that she is helping the individuals she serves reach their full potential.
“Working for Arizona MENTOR has given me the opportunity to grow and achieve my career goals and work with an excellent team every day. It has also given me the opportunity to make a difference and enhance the lives of the children and adults we serve.” -Joann Gifford
